A Review of October 2023

October 2023;

October, also known as spooky season, was a good month for Chorley Auction House. As the name suggests we sold quite a few Halloween decorations, getting good prices for them on the build up to Halloween. But the best selling item of the month was Vintage 14ct Gold and Amethyst Art Nouveau Bracelet, which sold for £400.

Chorley Auction House;

We've still been hitting 900+ lots consistently, which it seems is us at full capacity no matter what Mark says. But more impressive than the amount of lots is the range of items, trying to attract as many collectors as possible is a good way to get the best prices for items. With the auction running itself on a week-to-week basis the focus if we have any spare time is the Charity auction which is fast approaching. Luckily our very own Sarah is more than up to the job, with the date being set for the 8th of December.

Imperial Auction Services;

The downside of having 900+ lots a week is that Imperial auctions has taken a bit of a back seat, with everyone working at full capacity to make the weekly auction a success. We do have plans for potential auctions, but it may be the case of waiting until the Charity auction has passed. For example we have acquired a lot of crafting materials, so a specialist sale for crafting is a possibility.

Packit&Go;

A new website is being developed for Packit&Go, looking to start a marketing push to increase our options for house clearances which are going well and steady at the moment. Mark has said October was "Steady but Satisfying", truly a man of the people.
