November 2023

November 2023;

November is a busy season as everyone gets a head start on Christmas shopping, so we can get an increase in people buying jewellery or anything that might make nice presents. But also an increase in people selling and buying decorations as they prepare their houses for the Christmas period. Now consistently hitting 900 lots in the auctions we're firing on all cylinders, just in time for the two weeks holiday.

Chorley Auction House;

The best selling item this month was International Watch Company (IWC) Military issue RAF Mark XI wristwatch selling for a whopping £2800, one of our best sellers ever (we have a full list on the website if you want to see more). As well as this we finished the preparations for the charity auction, this year we're making it an online timed sale rather than an in person event. Despite this we still have a fair amount of bidders and is looking like being a success, but keep checking the catalogue because we are still taking items and updating the catalogue. Another update is that we have fitted a new front counter in the showroom, as well as new carpet. Make sure you complement the new counter and carpet of you visit the showroom, and ask Geoff to change the colours of the LED lights to blue.

Imperial Auction Services;

Imperial Auctions are still waiting to kick into full gear, organising both the Monday auction and a corresponding specialist auction is a difficult task. But the hope is that we can work more in line with the house clearance side to acquire more specialist items and use Imperial to sell them, along with the new unit we should have enough in place to be more consistent with Imperial Auctions.

Packit&Go;

We are slowly building the house clearance segment, it seems like Harry is never in the building. With all this feeding back into Chorley Auction House, providing more benefits to both us and the customers. Mark in our packing department sums up November in the following way "Busy, busy Christmas approaching. Giddy giddy", Mark clearly loves Christmas and knows the way to our hearts.
